Hello for all
HI! SAVE THE SEEDS! LOYAL TO MY SOIL
Hello all for California these days have been unforgettable and informative
Woohoo. Here we go. I am catching up after being on Vacation with fam. Definitely thankful to be able to add more info and education to my repertoire. I have been studying soil science for several years now and am working on getting my Permaculture certification atm. I learn more and more every day.
I am so excited to learn from Dr. Vandana Shiva and so many more of the great speakers. Thank you so much.
Regeneration are key. We have to get more people understanding that so much of what they are doing is ignorance. Far too much more is greed, taking far more than they are giving back .
Respect for the living world, taking time to observe. Harmonizing with nature is so important. I really want to learn more about what cities have implemented or are implementing biodiversity and balancing nature with human development. We need to get more mushrooms and microorganisms back into the soil. It rediculous that people think they can cut down thousand year old trees and replace them with monoculture saplings, if they are doing even worse by tilling the soil killing everything in it and releasing all that carbon.
I keep telling people we not only need the trees, we need the soil. The trees make it possible for all the mushroom mycellium and other biodiversity to coexist, thrive. Why aren’t they talking about how much less oxygen we have in the air now?
Hello to all, beautiful and enriching talks thus far. Yes save our seeds and save our soil.
Logged in Representing Dominica “the nature island of the Caribbean” where we knew all of this growing up but the agenda has gotten to us. We now are having bridge a wide gap in education. We grew up 100% organic now we are riddled with diseases from packaged foods
=D Big Hugs Vandana! We’ve met when I was active with SLOLA at Heirloom Expo & SoCal a few times. Gratitude for your continuing love of this world’s soils & seeds while sharing your precious wisdom & perspectives on all from global to local! Gratitude for your INSPIRATION as I.we [by inspiring new Seed Libraries up here] to continue on, from Portland, Oregon. I network your teachings, Regen Ag & Soil Health continually. World IS A BETTER Place thanks to You! Big ((((( HUGS )))))
Lori you are such an asset to our Portland area! Thank you for your work.
I saw a report on DW channel talking about the Hindi farmers having a lot of issues with loans, health, pollution and lack of profitability regarding to monoculture, so several of them have been changing to growing edible forests, non monocrops, changing “high productivity” for self preservation, soil and water preservation…..
Green revolution was useful, but is not suitable in the long run
Thank you Vandana for your touching talk.
Thank you.
I would give her a microphone and broadcast time on prime time every where to just TALK….
Thank you Vandana & Melissa
…it is so incredible to hear you say my heart out load…and say the things…I am seeing…and been seeing… beliefs out loud…your view and knowledge of history…and the stories….you shared I am grateful for. I have felt this way about capitalism…for so long…what we do with our food and water…and have wanted to change it…I have some ideas and send you so much love for sharing your knowledge and heart….you are beautiful. Thank you summit…for this amazing…helpful and inspiring summit.
I was deeply touched by your message and perspective on how to be a positive influence in a world that is blind to the systems causing us harm without being overwhelmed by the task. Truth.
agreed
Thank you Dr
Lovely Vandana, I always enjoy the Indian, Forest = Water concept. It was all so beautifully presented. Thank you
Absolutely 💯 💯
Incredibly spoken and presented I couldn’t agree more. Much love
Thank you for NOT mincing your words!
Wow! What an absolute pleasure! Absolutely great perspective and insight in to the workings of our world. I truly appreciate this in a soil talk. Because it helps us in the greater understand and the wholistic picture of the work we are trying to do! Thank you! La vida es muy hermosa.
Yes!! Food needs to be viewed as medicine and not so much something to fill our stomachs. If food is our medicine then we need to treat it correctly. Along with all that goes into growing our food. If these steps are taken we will not have the issue we are seeing today.
Thank you Dr. Vandana Shiva!! I wish more people would stop and take a look at what is happening. You hit the nail right on the head.
This conversation should be broadcast on every network and beamed onto every desktop. So important! I really appreciate the clear expression Dr. Shiva offers in showing the link between mindset, belief systems, community systems, ecological systems and industrial systems. Reminds me of the horrific (hard to hear, but necessary to hear) insights of IASA’s Terry Gipps (from the 80’s/90’s) “cycle of poison” discussion on how pesticides illegal in USA were nevertheless used in developing countries and then those foods introduced into USA. The worlds poison racketeers are ruining the web of life. Their shadow origins exemplify the aim to destroy life for profit and control. Dr Vendana Shiva and the society of regenerative soil consciousness – cooperators are giving us the antidote. The world hangs in the balance. Good education and right practices are key to pulling us out of destruction. Thank you!
2023 – the year of millet.
Great to hear the research around the fact that millets successfully grow in all climates/soils and extremes. Will definately be testing this out as a part of increasing diversity.
Am also interested in building on her findings with the biodiversity to nutrition indexing. As she states – an honest assessment of truth in food production MUST base itself upon an assessment centered on biodiversity and nutrition because these indicators encaptulate the true health of the ecosystem, the true health of the farmer (mind, body, intention), and importantly express a value for the land which reinforces nutrient cycling and regeneration, not conservation and decline.
Thankyou, Dr. Vandana Shiva!!
Thank you so much, Vandana, for sharing your knowledge, and passion for getting us out of this mess. I wish for many more people to wake up, realize what is going on and start working together on the local level worldwide. The truth will prevail. Much love!
And a big thanks to all of you for organizing the summit!
