John D. LiuFilmmaker, Ecologist, founder of Ecosystem Restoration CampsAfter 15 years as a Television Producer and Cameraman for CBS News, RAI, and ZDF, John began to study ecology in the mid 1990s. John founded the Environmental Education Media Project (EEMP). He also helped to create the China Environment and Sustainable Development Reference and Research Center (CESDRRC) and the China HIV/AIDS Information Center (CHAIN). Over the years, he has produced, directed, written, and presented numerous films. Currently, he is the Ecosystem Ambassador for the Commonland Foundation and the Visiting Research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology of the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (NIOO/KNAW).

Wonderful and inspiriting presentation! I am based out of Pennsylvania, USA and would like to know how I can get involved in a group that helps to resort. Is there any groups based out of Pennsylvania that I could join?
I have a very large, complex, detailed vision of very doable solutions in my local area utilizing 100 acres. I live one county north of Oklahoma City. I have been working on a business plan for way too long. Mostly because the industrial sized type of operation needed here has no template to follow. I believe this operation would rapidly snowball the common knowledge of the importance of this campaign to heal the soil = heal the world and along the way it’s inhabitants. Absolutely awesome summit this year! I am very much interested in talking with you or someone about the possibility of a camp here. We actually have an emergency situation due to the latest political campaign to chip all the red cedars due to a wide spread belief that the cedars are drinking our ground water. I am not necessarily arguing this point. However, I see my local population willing to make a difference, and need help to update/sync our knowledge with the rest of the planet. Because I have faith in my people to agree with “efficiency and effectiveness” to communicate, collaborate, cooperate to explore our best options moving forward as our part of the planet and not just an isolated state.
